11.03 First day of Ramadan

Life comes to a stop during Ramadan.

Most shops are shut... like an empty Mall..

Tuesday is my last full day in Ryiad and on wednesday I fly to Vienna.... That flight Ryiad to Vienna cost me 16 USD.

10.03 My first day in Ryiad

Ryiad is huge and distances from my hotel to the old town is 9km thats 1 hr by bus.

3 days of nothing special

On the 07th I rested and did my laundry

On the 08th I travelled from Bahrain to Dammam

On the 09th I travelled from Dammam to Ryiad

03rd / 04th March Travelling days

I left Doha on the 03rd and made my way via the border point Abu Samra back to Saudi Arabia. A bus brings you to the border. You cross the border by taxi and then you hichhike on the Saudi side. I made it to Hofhuf for the night and travelled the next day via Dammam to a new country for me Bahrain !

Last day in Doha

A relaxing last day in Doha and visited the EXPO in Doha

Tomorrow I will take a bus to the Saudi border and then lets see how I move from there...

29.02. Day2 in Doha

Another great, but not really warm day in Doha. I found my go to easy local comfort food.  Bread with hommus and a local non alcohol apple beer.

24-27.02 rain 15 degr c in Kuwait

a grey rainy welcome in Kuwait and 2 public holidays. National Day annd Liberation Day.

I had a great day in Abu Dhabi. I left the hotel only at noon and went to Yas mall. A great traditional swedish meal at Ikea...

My roadtrip to Al Ula has started

I rented a car an need to drive 400km from Medina to Al Ula. The adventure has started.

Medina 17.02.2024

I took the fast train from Jeddah to Medina and had a wonderful visit around the mosque in Medina. I watched prayertime at sunset.

I had a wonderful day in Jeddah. what a start. Very nice people. Great weather and nobody seems me to mind wearing my short trouser.

My first lunch I had at a very inviting Pakistani restaurant for 4 euros..

First stop is Vienna 13.02.2024

On my way to my winter break this year I had to stop in Vienna...

On 12.02 I spent all day in the train... and on 13.02 I returned 7kg of old Schilling coins to the national bank in Vienna and in the afternoon I joined a coin swap with the collectors from Vienna
