Hanoi, Vietnam

Good morning Vietnam,

I arrived in Hanoi and every Vietnamese seems to be born with a Moped.
The video looks like a moped convention on a sunday, but it is a random traffic video.

a bit about China again

In China the record for the cheapest bed ever was broken. So far the cheapest "bed" was a matrace on the rooftop in Aqaba, Jordan for 3 Euros per night.

New record holder is the official youth hostel in ChongChing, China for 1.50 Euro per night

Furthermore during the Yangtze river cruise in China I had also the first rat ever in my cabin, which was not that fantastic.

Macau - Las Vegas of the East

After Hong Kong I spent 2 days in Macau. They have built little Las Vegas here. Macau was held by the Portuguese a long time and it still looks european, except the Casinos.

They have the MGM Grand and the Venetian like in Las Vegas.

The weird fact is that in Macau the Casino Owners make more money then in Las Vegas !!!

Hong Kong

After China I spent 3 days in Hong Kong and it reminded me a bit of Rio deJaneiro.
Really hot and humid and a little train up the mountain, this time Victoria Peak.

Every night in Hong Kong they have the biggest permanent light show of the planet !

China behind the Firewall !

I"m back from behind the firewall ( Chinese Security Server )

The last 4 weeks it was impossible to read/access my blog from China. Now I'm Hong Kong and all is working again.

China is amazing, but totally different to Japan.
The streets are more dirty and the peoples mentality is different. In Japan nobody eats/drinks on the street and blowing your nose is not a good thing to do.

In China you can see kids pee anywhere, because they have no dypers. A baby or young kids have just split pants like these...

The worst is the spitting in China. The sound is so disgusting and
it has nothing to do with the european spitting because the fluid is collected from deep deep down... The Goverment tries to stop this behaviour, and sometimes you will find signs like that..
To make it worse, you might think that they spit only outdoors, no they spit inside the bus, in the shopping mall and in restaurants !!!

I wish the Japanese Toilets would be here, but instead you have the asian squirt toilets..

Travelling is not as easy as in Japan and you have to buy any train ticket a few days in advance, because you rival with 1 Billion Chinese for the seat on the train. There are so many people and you wonder, why you have never heard of cities like Shenzhen 10 Mio or Wuhan 4.5 Mio people.

China is no country of efficiency and people have long lunch breaks. Most of the people just take there head down and sleep. So you see people sleep anywhere, on restaurent tables or right on the office desks.
